Gold Canyon trivia:
"Back in the Saddle Again," I might be singing. Working 2 days a week, and already bursting at the seams with too much to do. Looking at Google the other day, I discovered that my website, www.jokersandpegs.com finally shows up on page ONE of a Google search, if you enter the keywords. Strangely, directly ahead of MY result is an entry for Gold Canyon RV and Golf Resort! Google finds an obscure entry for jokers and pegs in one paragraph listing inside activities! There is NO figuring the obscurity of search engine results!
Now, this might not sound like a big deal, but with Google dominating the search-engine world, it doesn't matter much if you're consistently the first entry at Yahoo or anywhere else. And to make me even happier, my peg supplier, www.petespegs.com offered to put a link on their page to my own. That'll help, too. Of course, I can barely stay ahead of orders, so maybe these will be too much of a good thing? Sadly, probably tomorrow I'll drop back to page 8.
I went out with my spanking new (used, Ebay) tripod with the miracle fluid head and took my best-yet movies of this place. The results were so pleasing (IMNSHO) that I thought about taking a sample DVD to the administration. My second thought was "naaahhh." So much for MY team spirit.

Back in Gold Canyon:
We're here for the next 6 months. It's been hot, but not HOT! (i.e. tolerable) since mid-October. As always, it's a spot whose mountain vistas are surprising given we're in effect a suburb of greater Phoenix. The resort is still in the summer doldrums---won't pick up speed for another month or so. Quite frankly, I like it find this way... My antisocial side is kicking up.
Today was my first day working again: I dreaded it like the plague, but like most "w" situations, it's worse thinking about it than actually doing it.
But, things are relatively well. For the moment, I'm happy to be here. Plenty of enjoyable winter-time activities beckon.
